Stop Line 3: Part 7

Stop Line 3: Part 7

Radical bodies lie down in the road.
Radical bodies run toward danger.
Radical bodies walk fast and carry water.
Radical bodies walk slow and carry messages.
Radical bodies bear pepper spray and rubber bullets.

Weak bodies stand flat-footed and unrooted.
Weak bodies bristle with guns and tasers.
Weak bodies shield themselves with armor.
Weak bodies hide inside machines and laws.
Weak bodies escalate and arrest.

The body stores memories
even when the mind forgets.
It remembers fight flight freeze fawn
and it remembers hugs and laughter.
If you want to know truth, ask your body.

Violence on the land
and violence on the body
are the same.
Violence on the water
is violence to the soul.

Love to the land
and love to the body
are the same.
Love to the water
refreshes the soul.

Weak bodies may win battles but
they will never end the war.
It is the radicals who will help Mother
stand up again, hold her hands,
help her heal from this new violence.
